RESOURCES FOR CHAPTER DIRECTORS

There are several wonderful resources for Chapter Directors.

The first is the Mississippi Division's Director's Handbook for Chapter Directors, which is downloadable if you have Word. The Division's Handbook contains the CofC's Ritual, Pledges and Salutes and Creed; information on officers, items available for purchase; Code of Behavior; Division Annual Awards; Scholarships; rules/guidelines for Chapter scrapbooks, yearbooks and histories; Catechism Quiz Rules; end of year reports; the CofC Division's By-Laws, and the T.W. Crigler Loving Cup Requirements.

Other resources include the General CofC Handbook, General CofC Minutes Book (both of which are ordered from the CofC), and the UDC Handbook.

For information on chartering a CofC chapter, contact the Division Director M. Murdock.

Upcoming Events and Message from CofC Division Director

"Batter Up" is the theme of Knox Williams, the CofC Division President (if you haven't met him, you should...he's a hoot).  Let's help him to have a lot of home runs this year!   New members, active chapters focusing on the CofC's five objectives (historical, educational, patriotic, benevolent, and memorial), young people making friends around our state.   I will work hand in hand with those UDC chapters that sponsor CofC chapters and will STRONGLY encourage those Chapters that don't either to consider sponsoring a chapter OR to work toward a successful Mississippi CofC in other ways.

DIVISION CofC CONVENTION:  June 9 and 10, 2017 in Gulfport.   As a special activity, we will visit Ship Island and tour Fort Massachusetts and see the UDC's plaques in the Sally port of the fort! Details will be out ASAP.

GENERAL CofC CONVENTION:  July 12-16, 2017. Montgomery, Alabama.   I will pass along details as I get them.

Ladies - if you think doing our work with each other is fun, doing that work with the bright young people of our CofC Division is all the more rewarding.   Ladies, step up to the plate...take a home run cut...your children NEED you!

BATTER UP!!!!

M. Murdock
